2024 Phonics Results

Our 2024 Phonics Screening Check results demonstrate the impact of high quality phonics teaching, with 81% of Year 1 pupils meeting the expected standard (in line with national average) and 89% of Year 2 pupils passing the Phonics Screening Check by the end of Key Stage 1 (within one child of national).

2024 Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check

Children consistently do well in the MTC at Woodley, with 31% of children scoring 25/25 in 2023-24 (2022-23 national average was 29%). The average score was 23.2, compared to 20.2 nationally last year. This ensures children have strong foundational knowledge in maths to aid arithmetic and problem solving in Years 5 and 6.

2024 End of Key Stage 2 Progress

It will not be possible to calculate key stage 1 to key stage 2 progress measures for 2023 to 2024 or 2024 to 2025 academic years. This is because there is no key stage 1 baseline available to calculate primary progress measures for these years, because of Covid disruption.

For the 2023 to 2024 academic year, primary schools do not have to publish progress scores in reading, writing or maths, as the Secretary of State is not publishing these.

2024 End of Key Stage 2 Attainment

Pupils meeting expected standard in reading, writing and maths: 39%

Pupils achieving at a higher standard in reading, writing and maths: 0%

Average score in reading: 103

Average score in maths: 101
