We hope you enjoy seeing some of the fantastic activities we get up to in classes. Our priority is to develop a love of learning through exciting and enjoyable experiences. We want every child to be successful; to ‘reach for the stars’ and embed our CARE values, which are at the core of everything we do. We encourage all children to be ambitious and aim high whilst being responsible and respectful individuals. We aim to help them to feel confident, creative and resilient in their learning, with an understanding that everyone matters. Please see below a range of activities we have enjoyed so far.

Year 1
Reading at Home
Children in Year 1 bring home a phonics book and a choice book and these are changed on a Thursday. We ask that children read their phonics books at least 3 times before changing them.
- First read – decoding (sounding out words)
- Second read – comprehension (understanding the text)
- Third read – fluency (reading smoothly and confidently)
