HOW WE SPEND OUR
Primary Schools Sports Funding
At Woodley, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of our children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. We have always been committed to providing children with a strong program of sporting activities and our Primary School Sport’s Funding is enabling us to continue to extend our provision for all our pupils, ensuring that each child will experience the benefits. We have developed an action plan in order to continue to improve PE provision and raise achievement for all pupils in sport.
How much do we get?
Each school receives £16,000, plus £10 per eligible pupil. This is allocated in two payments in September and April. For the school year 2024-25 Woodley Primary School received approximately £19,370.00
Our Latest 2024-25 Priorities for the Funding…
Enhance Swimming and Water Safety: Allocate funds for additional swimming lessons and resources to ensure the majority of Year 6 pupils meet the National Curriculum requirements and gain confidence in water safety skills.
Expand Lunchtime Sports Opportunities: Engage sports coaches to run structured and diverse activities during lunchtimes, promoting active participation and ensuring equal access for all pupils.
Invest in Staff CPD for PE: Provide professional development opportunities to improve staff confidence and skills in delivering high-quality, inclusive PE lessons, ensuring lasting benefits for both teachers and pupils.
