Welcome to our Year 5/6 page! We teach a broad and balanced curriculum and our Woodley CARE values are at the core of everything we do. In Year 5/6, we encourage everyone to be ambitious and aim high whilst being responsible and respectful individuals. We aim to help the children to feel confident, creative and resilient in their learning, with an understanding that everyone matters. We hope this page provides an opportunity for you to see some of the activities the children will experience in Year 5/6.

Please have a read through the slides above to better understand how Year 5/6 works at Woodley Primary in 2026/27.

Homework

Reading: Children should be reading at least 3 times per week – ideally daily. Please record this in reading records (children can do this!).  

Times Tables: TT Rockstars – 15 mins per week. Garage mode responds to your child’s individual level. The questions they get keep adjusting to provide the best fit for every learner’s needs. This is the best game made for improving their recall while they’re still learning.  

Written activity: 1 written activity per week. This will be a maths, spelling or handwriting activity linked to current learning.

Homework is set on a Friday and due in on a Friday. Class Dojos will be given for homework completion.

PE

SATs

SATs will take place w/c 10th May 2027 for children in Year 6. We will help to prepare the children for these assessments throughout the year so they have an opportunity to shine.
